With the President planning to replace “The Beast,” it will be interesting to see what the new limo will look like. If GM gets the bid, it is likely that the new limo will be a stretch version of the Cadillac XTS. If President Obama chose Lincoln, the limo would likely be a mixture of the the MKS sedan and MKT crossover. The Chrysler version of the presidential limo would be based on the 300, which is the car that President Obama owned before he took office. Looks like President Obama isn’t the only one in the market for a new limousine. President Vladimir Putin has had a new limousine specially designed, but has not ordered it at this point. The design is being described as a mix between a Chrysler 300 and a Rolls-Royce. Putin has also announced his intention to replace the current Mercedes and BMW sedans used by top Kremlin officials with a fleet of new Russian-made limousines manufactured by ZiL. Currently, the XTS is the largest luxury sedan that Cadillac produces. However, GM recently announced that within the next two years, they will launch a model that is bigger than the XTS. At this time, not many details have been released about the super-sized sedan, but GM is stating that is will not resemble any of the brand’s recent concept cars. It will use some styling highlight from them, such as the knife-edge row of lights on the front fenders, similar to the new CT.

Everyone needs a new car from time to time. It looks like it’s time for President Obama to get a new limousine. Although a specific launch date has not been announced yet, a recent report states that the government is looking into replacing “The Beast” with a newer model. The Secret Service is in the process of choosing a limo that meets all of the strict specifications for the Commander-in-Chief’s new ride. So far, they have not decided which limo maker to go with, but it is evident that Cadillac and Lincoln are competing for the contract.
