Video-based driver safety program

When you decide to rent a car service, your safety is the most important factor. We engaged with Lytx™, the leader in video-based driver safety programs to record your drive and help us ensure you are safely delivered to your destination.

The DriveCam, located on your driver’s windshield, records video of your drive to ensure your safety. It records both the inside and the outside of the vehicle with two lenses: one facing back toward the driver and one facing forward through the windshield.  This allows us to monitor your entire drive from all angles, because your safety is our number one priority.

While we value safety, we also understand the value of privacy. The DriveCam does not record everything during your entire ride. It is specifically designed to identify and capture only risky driving behaviors. The Event Recorder is continuously recording, but the footage is only saved when there is an event that needs to be reviewed. An “event” is something caused by specific driving behaviors, such as hard breaking, accelerating, excessive speeding, cornering or collision.

When this happens, the event video recordings are typically 12 seconds long. When activated for an incident, the event recorder immediately saves the 8 seconds prior to activation point and then records and saves for 4 seconds after the incident.

The Event Recorder is only activated remotely. No one person, like your driver, can access and record the ride. We want to make sure you feel safe when you ride with BEST-VIP.
