The Los Angeles Auto Show opens to the public tomorrow! After two days of media previews, there are some vehicles that are already standing out above the rest. BMW adds a convertible to its 4 Series line of two-door coupes, which debuted over the summer. Porsche is entering the fast-growing small SUV market with the Macan. Ford says its Edge concept vehicle previews the design direction and technology of the company’s future SUVs. The F-Type convertible, which went on sale in the spring, was Jaguar’s first two-seat sports car in 50 years, and now the company’s adding a hardtop version. The Vision Gran Turismo super sports car, with its wild and fluid lines and extreme proportions, will draw viewers to Mercedes’ stand at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Volkswagen announced that its first fully electric car, the e-Golf, will go on sale in the U.S. at the end of 2014. We look forward to seeing these, and many other amazing vehicles at the 2013 LA Auto Show next week. For those who require a little more length from their luxury 4×4 limo, Land Rover has pulled the covers from the long wheelbase Range Rover.
The stretched Range Rover measures a full 5.2 meters from nose to tailgate, and adds an extra 14cm of rear legroom to the standard car’s already generous space by stretching the body between axles.
Right now, this vehicle has only been released for sale in Europe, but we can still appreciate the unique style and innovations. The SEMA Show last week revealed some amazing vehicles and aftermarket parts. From Ford Mustangs to Jeep Wranglers to Ferraris, the show held everything that auto enthusiasts could hope for. SEMA featured over 1,500 vehicles this year. Some vehicles were featured more than others throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center, including 45 different versions of the F-150, but each vehicle brought something new and exciting to the floor. If you missed the show, you can check out the hottest vehicles at SEMA at http://www.autoweek.com/article/20131106/CARNEWS/131109881

Have you ever wondered what’s inside the President’s Armored limo? Autoweek takes us inside and reveals some of the details about The Beast. It’s called “The Beast,” but it might surprise you to learn that President Barack Obama’s massive Cadillac isn’t really a Cadillac. And there’s not just one, but a dozen, in the highly classified motor pool. It’s not surprise that the car features military-grade armor including steel, aluminum, titanium and ceramic, surrounded by removable fiberglass sheets on the doors and fenders. The fuel tank is armor-plated and encased in special foam to protect it from rupture in case of collision-or small-arms fire. That’s just the beginning of what this amazing limo is made of. In January, Cadillac will begin selling its first electric car for a base price of $75,995. That luxury price makes it a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model S. In terms of styling, the ELR is similar to the Cadillac CTS, ATS, and XTS sedans. Running on electricity and gasoline, its range should exceed 300 miles, which matches the Model S (though Tesla uses only electric power). GM anticipates that the ELR will also qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit, much like the Model S.
